New Years Eve! Spent most of the day downtown with the in-laws , watching football from a waiting room
Eventually escaped to home for a yummy dinner – crab cakes & fancy champagne, a repeat splurge from last year – plus BK poached some pears with his new sous vide machine…
Then headed east to LCW to take on KC2 in a mostly friendly match of Mexican Train dominoes – girls rule!
worked in the home office for the morning a bit, then headed over to Greenwood to stay with my cutest neighbor Izzy for a few hours so SS could get some work done – D is 4 delicious!
Then in the evening went north to Edmonds for Trivia night celebrating TA’s birthday – so fun to catch up with them and others, plus we won! It helped that we had the birthday girl on our team 🙂
started off pretty great with breakfast in bed – thanks BK!
then we tackled another organizing project, a new shelf in the basement for kitchen appliances, yay!
BK played with his new sous vide machine and torch for dinner, yum:
and capped off the night with wine & desserts with the neighbors (yay for awesome neighbors!)
Actual project day – clean and organize the garage.
First stop Costco to buy a new industrial strength shelving unit:
Next, clean everything out of the way and assemble the new shelf:
Lastly, put everything back nicely and make a dump run:
Oh yeah, and then go celebrate all your hard work with a yummy dinner at Harvest Vine, mmmm…
Seahawks Sunday! KC2 had tix to the game so we headed over to their house to babysit KC3 & KC4. What an ugly game, ugh – at least we had these cutie pies to keep us entertained instead…
Husky Football Saturday! Huskies kicked off at 11:20am in the Heart of Dallas Bowl vs. Southern Mississippi. Our usual tailgating crew came over, and while the game was much closer than it probably should have been, the Huskies won! (phew)
Christmas Day! Lazy morning at home, then off to pick up my parents and head to the Eastside for the afternoon. As we got off the freeway we looked at ahead to a dark ominous cloud. Just after unpacking the car, a hailstorm arrived – does this count as a white Christmas?
BK made an awesome cioppino for dinner and it was great to all be together to cap off the holiday…
Christmas Eve – lazy day at home then dinner at the Jones’. Typically the Jones’ have celebrated Christmas morning, but we decided to move it dinner instead so we wouldn’t be so rushed tomorrow. However, we did not want to miss out on Janet’s beer waffles, so it was Breakfast for Dinner!
My office decided to close for the week between Christmas & New Years, and with the Huskies playing the morning after Christmas that means no travels and no work for 11 days. I’m pretty sure I’ve never had a staycation this long – what can happen in those 11 days? First things first, a Joy-ful kick-off…
Apparently we made it on ESPN at the end of last week’s Husky victory over USC – go Dawgs!
